Revelwood is located in Somersby on the Central Coast of NSW, only a hour from Sydney and Newcastle’s CBD. The 70 acre property is bound by national park as well as a neighbouring competition venue. There are some magnificent areas of our property including Little Mooney Creek that runs directly through the centre. Each side of the creek has been preserved to encourage a natural pathway for vegetation and wildlife.
The stud is blessed to have very high rainfall which provides year-round green pastures. These pastures are supplemented with a balanced diet of Prydes feed, grain and hay.
The stud horses are grown and kept in a variety of herds in order to maintain a ‘normal’ life. Their paddocks are roomy and all horses have access to our automatic water troughs as well as spring-fed dams.
Cutting edge breeding program
The stud has developed a reproduction program that is tailored to our needs and those of our clients through the use embryo transfer from our imported European mares and stallions. With Amanda as our on-site veterinarian who has a special interest in embryo transfer, we can offer exceptional service and care for your mare.
In conjunction with owning and managing Revelwood, David and Amanda are successful dressage competitors. Whilst growing up, both David and Amanda tried their hand at eventing and showjumping however chose to follow their passion in dressage.
David and Amanda have a daughter Annabel who is forever keen to show people her pony Annie! Annie is a little palomino Section A riding pony who has been a wonderful educator for Annabel and her friends! She can often be spotted going for a ride up the road or simply working in the arena when mum and dad are riding!! Sometimes (most of the time) Annabel will want to lead her around, or practice lunging at some of the more inopportune times! Watch out for this one!!
